About the Role

As a Construction & Engineering Underwriter, you'll play a vital role in assessing and managing risk within our specialized portfolio. You'll leverage your expertise to make informed underwriting decisions, ensuring profitable growth while upholding the highest standards of integrity.

Your Responsibilities
  • Underwriting Expertise: Evaluate construction and engineering risks, exercising sound judgment to determine appropriate coverage limits and conditions.
  • Proposal Review: Analyze new business submissions, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and other relevant documentation, providing comprehensive assessments based on your underwriting knowledge.
  • Contract Management: Administer existing contracts, making amendments in accordance with our underwriting philosophy to ensure alignment with evolving market conditions.
  • Intermediary Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with intermediaries and customers, balancing their needs with the company's strategic objectives to drive profitable growth.
  • On-Site Decision Making: Exercise delegated authority to make effective on-site decisions for intermediaries, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering and Underwriting team to share insights, collaborate on complex cases, and maintain a cohesive underwriting approach.
  • Portfolio Optimization: Contribute to maintaining a balanced and high-quality portfolio by leveraging information gathered during the underwriting process.
