Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Rail Site Manager to join our team based at a client's site in Filton. The successful candidate will take the lead operationally for their location, ensuring that contracted services perform to the highest standards and meet all contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery
    • • Deliver the payroll and rosters for your location, taking into consideration short-, medium-, and long-term planning and overnight cleaning and any additional work.
    • • Implement and deliver client cleaning specifications and services in your location.
  • Financial Management
    • • Have full accountability for all financial overtime and stock control within your location.
  • Team Leadership
    • • Champion change and implement new policies and processes, influencing employees to ensure buy-in.
    • • Lead the effective operational delivery and facilitation of all services within your location.
    • • Hold weekly and periodic reviews with the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • • Liaise closely with Supervisors, Team Leaders, and employees to ensure common service delivery standards and collaborative working are met.
    • • Work closely with the Senior Operations Manager to review and implement new initiatives, legislation, and other changes.
  • Reporting and Budgeting
    • • Monitor and report on budgets and expenditure for your location, making recommendations for control improvements as necessary.
    • • Provide regular reports on the operation to the Senior Operations Manager.

  • Requirements
    • • A proven track record in cleaning service delivery.
    • • Experience in implementing, reviewing, and achieving standards for safety, quality, time, and cost.
    • • Demonstrable experience of managing a team.
    • • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate and build credibility with employees.
    • • Experience in leading and inspiring a team, which may be dispersed across a region.
    • • Excellent diplomacy skills combined with the confidence and resilience to handle potential conflict situations.
    • • Ability to resolve conflicting issues and priorities.
    • • Outstanding knowledge and a demonstrable track record of expertise in the successful management of in-house teams at a local level.
    • • A willingness to travel to sites across the contract region at short notice.
    • • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • • Flexible working attitude to accommodate the contract requirements and changing business needs.
    • • Good IT skills, including use of Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
    • • The ability to use handheld devices, such as smart phones and tablets.
    • • Organisation skills for meeting deadlines and supporting others to do same.
    • • Relationship building, customer care, self-development, leadership, decision-making techniques, problem-solving, initiative/lateral thinking, HSE experience, interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills, and IT skills.
