Network Site Reliability Engineer

£200,000-350,000 total compensation – 4 days in office

About the Role

Quant Capital is seeking a highly skilled Network Site Reliability Engineer to join our Shared Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining infrastructure and tools that support our high-performance trading operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network and datacenter infrastructure with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python or Go, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Manage projects and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Strong background in network engineering and architecture, with expertise in switch internals, Ethernet, IP routing, VPN, tunneling protocols, routing protocols, firewall configuration, and debugging.
  • Proficiency in network automation, management, and monitoring through API transports.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python or Go, with experience in writing efficient and scalable code.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate network risks and issues, ensuring the security and integrity of our infrastructure.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment and proficient in using the Linux command line.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex projects with minimal oversight, working independently and collaboratively as needed.
