About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Services Assistant to join our team at Durham University. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our sports centre and Racecourse pavilion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a range of cleaning services, including cleaning and servicing of sports activity areas, changing rooms, toilets, offices, and common areas.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all areas are cleaned to a high standard.
  • Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure that cleaning services are delivered to a high standard.
Requirements
  • Recent cleaning experience.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Basic digital skills, including the ability to use the internet and email.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience of working in a team.
  • Ability to manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions, spoken or written, accurately.
