In this position, you will take charge of the maintenance, repairs, and modifications of our fleet of vehicles and trailers. Additionally, you will provide essential technical support, managing tasks from diagnosing issues to implementing solutions.
We require a professional who can deliver high-quality technical work while adhering to stringent Health & Safety regulations concerning equipment, machinery, and tools. Your initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and comprehensive understanding of vehicles, trailers, and workshop tools are crucial. Your organizational skills will be key as you maintain accurate documentation and records while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair work on the fleet of vehicles and trailers.
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in safe working condition.
- Execute repairs to the highest standards of quality.
- Conduct thorough engineering work and diagnostics.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Carry out repairs in compliance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
- Safely operate all relevant equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Possess a City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Have prior experience as an HGV Mechanic in a comparable role.
- Preferably hold an HGV C+E licence (Class 1) and a current ADR, although this is not mandatory.
- Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of vehicles, trailers, and workshop equipment.
- Have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
- Exhibit strong multitasking abilities and effectively meet key deadlines.
- Showcase exceptional fault-finding skills.
- Can work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Can perform effectively under pressure.
