About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with severe and complex learning difficulties, including autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
  • Attend to personal care needs and implement individual care plans
  • Promote positive student behavior and maintain a safe learning environment
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities
  • Monitor and record student responses and achievements
  • Assist in the implementation of educational and care programs
  • Select and maintain appropriate resources and specialist equipment
  • Liaise with staff and other professionals to provide necessary student information
  • Supervise students during breaks and educational visits, facilitating games and activities
  • Physically assist students during activities, such as PE

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to work with students with severe and complex needs
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with all ages
  • Desire to learn and develop new skills
