Security Analyst Year in Placement

We're seeking highly motivated and passionate individuals to join our Security team at Monzo for a placement of 12 months. This opportunity offers students pursuing studies in Information Security to gain practical experience in a dynamic fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the business to onboard high-priority suppliers and partners while managing associated security risk.
  • Contribute to improving how we manage Security at Monzo, leveraging new technologies to transform traditional approaches.
  • Assess and help mitigate security risks in high-priority business changes, including product launches.
  • Engage with Security Engineering, Offensive Security, Security Operations, and Data Protection teams to gain exposure to various security domains.
  • Interface with risk teams during Internal Audits, 2nd line risk reviews, or controls testing.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness materials and initiatives for employees.
  • Promote a security-conscious culture throughout the organisation.
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of information security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Strong interest in security operations, incident response, and threat detection methodologies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse and interpret data effectively.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR solutions is desirable.
