Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist to join our dynamic team at Gap Technical Ltd. This role is essential for ensuring the seamless operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain optimal performance of production lines through diligent adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Quickly and effectively address machine malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee and execute precise changeovers to ensure production efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on training to production team members, enhancing their operational skills and knowledge.
  • Continuously improve machinery performance by analyzing downtime causes and implementing engineering solutions.
  • Facilitate effective shift transitions by collaborating with fellow technicians.
  • Ensure the safe operation of all machinery, promptly reporting any issues to the Engineering Shift Manager.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to maximize production machinery performance.
  • Adopt a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment, supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing line performance and efficiency.
  • Engage in ongoing personal and team development to fulfill the primary objectives of the role.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and record systems in compliance with quality standards.
  • Uphold high safety standards in accordance with health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven ability to accurately diagnose and rectify both mechanical and electrical issues in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) equipment.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining hygiene standards and safe operation of factory machinery.
  • Proficient in utilizing IT tools to enhance manufacturing performance.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent training program.
  • Relevant qualifications or substantial experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Recognized qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
  • Several years of experience in the FMCG sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and foster team development in a continuous improvement setting.
  • Experience with modern manufacturing practices and the implementation of systems for enhanced performance.
