About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join a multidisciplinary adoption support service within our organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Regional Adoption Agency that provides adoption services on behalf of various local authorities. The adoption support service aims to ensure that adoptive families receive tailored support throughout their adoption journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the support needs of adoptive families and provide intervention to support their well-being
  • Work alongside multi-professional networks, including education, social care, and early help teams, to deliver therapeutic workshops and courses to parents
  • Develop and maintain relationships with adoptive families, providing guidance and support to help them navigate the adoption journey
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the complex needs of adopted children and families
Requirements

The successful candidate will need to have excellent assessment skills, the ability to work with parents and children who may be in distress, and an understanding of the complex needs of adopted children and families. Experience or an understanding of the adoption journey for parents and a child is also essential.
