SALARY: Up to £65,000 per annum

Chubb Systems is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to operate from various locations. The primary objective of this position is to oversee the commercial facets of a portfolio of design and build projects valued between £0.5 million and £10 million.

This role is hybrid, requiring work from different sites, including remote work and project locations nationwide. Overnight stays near project sites may be necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong and determined character, complemented by a solid technical foundation. A collaborative team player who can also work independently when needed, the candidate will be focused on targets and results.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Administration:

  • Oversee the Main Contract(s), assisting with Project Control information, Change Management, and Cash collection.
  • Manage the Subcontract Agreements comprehensively under the portfolio, including executing the project subcontract strategy.
  • Provide advisory services on various standard forms of agreement (including FIDIC, JCT, NEC, ICE, etc.), ensuring best practices are implemented throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to closeout.
  • Assist in the development and management of procurement and negotiation of all Subcontracts.
  • Commercially manage all Subcontract works under NEC3 (and other standard forms and Options).
  • Handle Change Management, including valuing changes and agreeing on value implications with Subcontractors.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify early warnings within the Subcontract environment.
  • Assist in the administration of Instructions and similar tasks.
  • Help prepare accurate project control information to assess progress against the agreed construction timelines.

Compliance:

  • Ensure the team adheres to ethics, quality, and EH&S requirements, making certain all members understand and comply with EH&S Policies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment both on-site and off-site.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience with the JCT standard suite of Contracts is essential.
  • Experience with the NEC 3 suite of Contracts is essential.
