Chubb Systems is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial aspects of a portfolio of design and build projects valued between £0.5 million and £10 million.
This position is hybrid, requiring work from various locations, including home, the Blackburn office, and project sites nationwide. Overnight stays near site locations may be necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong and determined personality, complemented by a solid technical background. A collaborative team player, the candidate should also be capable of working independently when necessary, with a focus on targets and results.

Key Responsibilities:Contract Administration:
- Oversee the Main Contract(s), assisting with Project Control information, Change Management, and Cash collection.
- Manage the Subcontract Agreements comprehensively within the portfolio, including the execution of the project subcontract strategy.
- Provide advisory services on various standard forms of agreement (including FIDIC, JCT, NEC, ICE, etc.), ensuring best practices are adopted and implemented throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to delivery and closeout.
- Assist in the development and management of procurement and negotiation of all Subcontracts.
- Commercially manage all Subcontract works under NEC3 (and other standard forms and Options).
- Handle Change Management, including valuing changes and agreeing on value consequences with Subcontractors.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify early warnings within the Subcontract environment.
- Assist in the administration of Instructions and similar tasks.
- Support the preparation of accurate project control information to assess progress against the agreed construction program(s).
Compliance:
- Ensure the team adheres to ethics, quality, and EH&S requirements, ensuring all members are aware of their obligations and comply with EH&S Policies.
- Maintain a safe working environment both on-site and off-site.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience with the JCT standard suite of Contracts is essential.
- Proven experience with the NEC 3 suite of Contracts is essential.
Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge:
Candidates should be of graduate caliber with:
- Hands-on experience in business processes, sharing and implementing best practices.
- Experience in Quantifying works according to Standard Measurement Rules.
- Experience in the Administration of Contracts for both Client and Subcontract.
- Proven ability to manage confrontational and challenging situations professionally.
