Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

As a Compliance Risk Analyst at RPC, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team that reports to the Compliance Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to perform client due diligence ("CDD") assessments in accordance with our obligations related to anti-money laundering ("AML") and counter-terrorism financing ("CTF"). This team supports RPC's various offices globally.

You will collaborate closely with our legal professionals worldwide to collect necessary information and documentation, while also conducting independent research to produce comprehensive client and matter CDD risk evaluations for a wide array of corporate entities and individuals. Regular communication with our broader Risk team and Money Laundering Reporting Officers will be essential, as you will provide guidance and make necessary referrals for their review and consideration.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of firm-wide training events. Once you have gained proficiency in your role, you may also have the chance to mentor new team members. The growth ambitions of the team and firm may lead to future supervisory roles.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting CDD assessments on clients and matters in compliance with AML/CTF regulations and preparing corresponding risk evaluations for Partner review.
  • Escalating higher-risk clients and matters to the Risk team and/or the relevant MLRO, providing recommendations for next steps and assisting with any additional research as required.
  • Collaborating with our legal team to verify and identify information about clients and matters to support risk assessments.
  • Utilizing open-source information and other databases effectively to research and document relevant information pertaining to clients and matters.
  • Managing your workload efficiently and following up with fee earners to ensure timely progress on assigned CDD tasks.
  • Overseeing the centralized team inbox, ensuring that general CDD inquiries are addressed and that work is equitably distributed among AML Analysts based on capacity.
  • Handling general client and matter onboarding administration, including documentation management and client approvals upon completion of CDD in the relevant systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in client and matter onboarding or an AML-focused role across any sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Desirable Attributes

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Familiarity with tools such as World Check, Compliance Catalyst, or Orbis.
  • Experience using Intapp.
  • Background in the legal sector.
  • Experience in drafting risk assessments and conducting CDD checks.
