Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bike Workshop Manager to lead our team of bike mechanics and volunteers at Maidenhead Cycle Hub. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the workshop, ensuring high-quality bike repairs and servicing, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Workshop Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  2. Bike Servicing and Repairs: Manage bike servicing and repairs for customers' bikes, quoting jobs to final inspections, and ensuring customers' enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead a small friendly team to provide a welcoming and friendly environment for mechanics, workshop volunteers, and customers.
  4. Inventory Management: Manage the pricing of refurbished bikes, servicing plans, and cost-effective parts ordering.
  5. Administrative Tasks: Look after the day-to-day operation and admin of the workshop, and coordinate with our Nicholson Centre shop team and trustees.
Requirements
  1. Cytech Level 2 Cycle Mechanic Qualification: Ideally, you will have a Cytech Level 2 Cycle Mechanic qualification, or equivalent training/qualification.
  2. Experience in Cycle Workshop: Plenty of experience servicing and repairing a wide range of bikes.
  3. Problem-Solving Skills: Able to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues with a high standard of workmanship.
  4. Leadership Skills: Enjoys coaching and developing others to learn bike repair skills.
  5. Basic IT Skills: Basic IT and admin skills to update and maintain our bike database and bike servicing records, stock ordering, customer emails, etc.
