At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Technical Operations and Maintenance Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

The Role

You'll be responsible for leading the technical authorship and administration teams, ensuring that all documentation required to deliver Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) products is prepared and supplied in a timely manner. You'll also identify methodologies to repair and improve the RWM facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all documentation required to deliver radioactive waste management operations and maintenance products are prepared and supplied in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement suitable processes and training to ensure compliance with related operating instructions
  • Provide professional advice on facility plant and systems, including writing reports and verifying documents
  • Manage the technical authorship and administrative team, ensuring statement of conformance conditions are met and ASQEP responsibilities are accepted and governed
  • Act as an ASQEP on behalf of the NOMM RWM, including responsibilities such as sponsoring and ownership of RWM operations and maintenance documentation

Essential Experience:

  • Understanding and interpretation of technical documents and drawings
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Appreciation and understanding of working in industrial areas and associated hazards
  • Technical operations relating to nuclear and radiological activities (desirable)
  • Maintenance of facilities and equipment to support industrial activities (desirable)
  • Industrial operations on regulated/licensed sites (desirable)

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 5 in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
