Position Overview

A reputable organization is in search of a talented Quality Assurance Production Engineer to manage quality control procedures from the initial inspection of incoming goods to the final assessment stage.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the effective documentation, reporting, and resolution of quality-related discrepancies, while maintaining and updating the Quality Assurance database with an emphasis on minimizing both internal and external discrepancies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Assurance and Reporting: Oversee the company’s Quality Assurance database (NCR) to efficiently track and resolve discrepancies. Provide quality assurance data to support corrective measures in collaboration with the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Promote RFT Culture: Foster a culture of Right First Time (RFT) across production by leading daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, encouraging process adherence, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Incoming Goods Inspection: Design and implement a strategic quality assurance inspection process for incoming materials to ensure compliance with required specifications and drawings while ensuring a consistent supply for production.
  • Non-Conformity Management: Document all non-conformities (NCRs) and establish a reporting framework to clearly identify, monitor, and resolve quality assurance issues promptly. Communicate quality assurance-related concerns internally and externally to expedite resolution.
  • Work Instruction Development: Collaborate with Product Development and Production Support teams to review and enhance task-specific work instructions. Conduct regular reviews of shop floor work instructions to ensure they remain up-to-date.
  • Supplier Quality Support: Partner with the Purchasing Team and Supplier Quality Engineer to evaluate supplier metrics and improve supplier performance and parts delivery to the production facility.
  • Performance Feedback: Provide quality data to production teams through regular meetings, identifying areas for enhancement and supporting the continuous improvement of quality standards.
  • QA Performance Reporting: Contribute to quarterly reports on quality assurance performance, offering insights and data to guide strategic decisions.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental standards and participate in on-site health and safety audits.
  • Auditing and Inspection: Conduct internal and external quality assurance audits as necessary and assist with final inspection and molding inspection processes.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to visit suppliers as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Preferred degree in business, commercial, manufacturing, or engineering, or equivalent qualifications such as ONC, A Levels, BTEC Diploma Level 4, or NVQ Level 4.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar quality assurance role within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Membership in a professional body and relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe software, and SAP.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) procedures and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with familiarity in methodologies such as 6S or 8D.
  • Solid understanding of FAIR, PPAP, FMEA, ISO9000, ISO14001, and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present data effectively.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and analytical skills.
  • Able to thrive in a diverse and dynamic environment with exceptional teamwork abilities.
