At AECOM, we spearhead groundbreaking ecology initiatives and projects through enduring partnerships with our clients. Our regional Nature teams are engaged in a variety of projects, including electrical transmission lines, transportation upgrades, renewable energy facilities, and numerous environmental assessments.

In this position, you will have the chance to contribute to various aspects of ecological work, such as employing advanced techniques for species and habitat assessments, data analysis, and reporting; securing new project opportunities; and mentoring team members in Advanced Bat Licence Survey Techniques and Biodiversity Net Gain.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of health, safety, and well-being within the team;
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure ecological compliance in multidisciplinary projects;
  • Conduct desk studies and field surveys for habitats, flora, and protected species;
  • Assist in managing the technical and financial aspects of ecological projects to adhere to budgets and timelines;
  • Analyze, interpret, and present ecological data, including report preparation and mitigation strategy design;
  • Serve as an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects;

Are You Ready to Make an Impact?

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A proven history of delivering ecological services on projects in the UK or Ireland;
  • A solid understanding of wildlife conservation related to significant habitat types or species;
  • Protected species licenses, preferably a Natural England Level 2 license or higher;
  • Experience in conducting bat roost assessments and preparing technical reports;
  • Familiarity with thermal imaging and night vision equipment;
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution and progress towards Chartership.
