About the Role

Hammersmith and Fulham Council has declared a climate and ecological emergency and aims to be a leader on environmental issues. The Climate and Ecological Emergency Unit is responsible for developing and delivering the Council's response to the climate and ecological emergency.

This role within the Council's Climate Emergency Unit is an opportunity to catalyse a system transformation of Council and other buildings in the borough to align with the net-zero target. The successful candidate will design and implement projects and solutions to decarbonise heat, working with colleagues in the Climate Unit and across the Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement projects and solutions to decarbonise heat
  • Work with colleagues in the Climate Unit and across the Council
  • Assess commercial delivery models
  • Engage stakeholders
  • Advise senior officers and councillors
  • Apply principles in a practical setting

Requirements

  • Passion for energy and climate issues
  • Good knowledge and understanding of heat decarbonisation, various types of heat pumps, and heat networks
  • Ability to lead substantial projects and programmes
  • Good quantitative skills including data analysis
  • Fast learner with a willingness to continually develop
