Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Decarbonisation Projects

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, working on decarbonisation projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop mechanical documents, including equipment specifications, schedules, and reports.
  • Perform pipework sizing calculations for various systems, including LTHW, CHW, HWS, CWS, Steam, Gas, Flue, Compressed Air, and Lube Oil.
  • Conduct ductwork sizing calculations.
  • Sizing of equipment, including pumps, PHEs, boilers, CHPs, heat pumps, thermal stores, buffer tanks, calorifiers, fans, AHUs, chillers, and control valves.
  • Heat gain/loss calculations and heating/cooling loads and respective profiles.
  • Functional Design Specifications and participation in HAZOP and LOPA discussions/meetings.
  • DSEAR assessment and PED calculations and documentation.
Requirements:
  • CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree.
  • Experience across different sectors, including Building Services Design, site surveys & inspections, snagging, client & design team meetings.
