Practice Lead for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Capacity Act

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Practice Lead to join our team at Hull City Council. As a key member of our safeguarding team, you will be responsible for championing the implementation of Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support the practice of Best Interest Assessors
- Provide advice, guidance, and mentorship to ensure effective person-centred practice
- Work with external partners to ensure the protection of individuals' rights
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with MCA and DoLS
- Strong value base that informs human rights-based approaches with adults
- Recognition of individuals as experts in their own lives
- Relentless commitment to quality and best practice
- Ability to establish professional relationships with partners, colleagues, and individuals
You will be an experienced practitioner with a sound knowledge of legislation and the ability to relate it to effective person-centred practice. You will have strong relationship-building skills and an understanding of the role of other organisations.
