Practice Lead for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Capacity Act

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as a Practice Lead for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Capacity Act. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the inception and development of our new team and drive forward practice for DOLS and MCA.
Key Responsibilities- Support the new DoLs Operational Team Manager in the delivery of the statutory functions of Hull City Council.
- Provide day-to-day management of the Deprivation of Liberty process, ensuring the legal responsibilities and duties are fulfilled.
- Champion the implementation of Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty policies and procedures.
- Supervise and support the practice of the Best Interest assessor and provide advice, guidance, and mentorship.
- A strong value base that informs your human rights-based approaches with adults.
- A recognition that people are the experts in their lives.
- A relentless commitment to quality and best practice.
- A capacity for honest, critical reflection and openness to learning.
- Ability to establish professional, effective working relationships with a range of partners/colleagues, adults, families, and their carers.
You will be an experienced practitioner with a sound knowledge of legislation and the ability to relate this to effective person-centred practice. You will have strong relationship building skills and an understanding of the role of other organisations that will enable you to work effectively with external partners.
