Role Overview:

The primary responsibility involves the documentation and analysis of exposure data to effectively oversee designated portfolios. This position requires collaboration with underwriting professionals to facilitate the quoting and aggregation services. Additionally, the role supports the consolidation processes, ensuring uniformity across various regions, and aids in the training of junior analysts and the outsourcing team.

The Exposure Management team is dedicated to:

Assisting underwriting teams with analytical modelling for informed business and risk decisions. Aiding underwriting teams in managing and optimizing their portfolios in line with risk limits. Accurately recording and modelling exposure data with high levels of detail and integrity. Generating data to support portfolio consolidation processes and regulatory reporting. Conducting post-event exposure assessments and loss potential evaluations. Producing necessary information for outward reinsurance placements. Creating capital model catastrophe data feeds. Developing internal management information.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Integrated Business Unit team to manage the quoting and cleansing service for designated classes, supporting all rollups and reporting. Utilize third-party modelling software (e.g., AIR) to assess risks for underwriters prior to binding. Maintain strong relationships with offshore modelling teams, addressing inquiries and providing ongoing support. Review third-party outputs, offering guidance and strategies for improvement. Assist senior team members in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of routine tasks related to assigned classes. Support the maintenance and recording of policy and exposure data in accumulation systems, focusing on data quality enhancement. Lead training and knowledge transfer initiatives for Integrated Business Unit and outsourcing teams. Address queries from outsourcing partners regarding cleansing assumptions for aggregation and modelling, taking ownership of complex accounts as necessary. Deliver validated model outputs for all required internal and external regulatory submissions. Acquire knowledge about classes modelled in platforms and optimize the use of catastrophe models. Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, demonstrating compliance with the Conduct Risk Policy and ensuring customer-centric behaviors.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Natural Sciences, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Geography). Experience and familiarity with third-party catastrophe models and aggregation tools are essential. Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functions. Knowledge of technical coding, including SQL, is essential (R, VBA, Python is desirable). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Pyramid, Tableau) is a plus. Previous experience working with offshore partners is advantageous. Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly and creatively interpret data. Organized and efficient, with a focus on continuous improvement. Capable of working independently while integrating into a fast-paced business environment. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences and creatively solve complex problems.
