Position Overview:

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking skilled Veterinary Technicians to join our dynamic Emergency department. This role offers an exhilarating opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with top veterinary professionals.

Compensation: $ - $ / hour

Note: This pay range serves as a starting point and will vary based on experience and progression through our CareerTrax leveling system.

We provide competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends, calculated based on a minimum of 4 hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and monitor anesthesia in patients, utilizing appropriate anesthesia and monitoring equipment.
  • Triage incoming emergency cases, including the assessment of vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Conduct digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of normal vital sign ranges, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Measure and interpret vital signs, promptly notifying the Veterinarian of any changes or concerns.
  • Recognize patients at risk for cardiac arrest and initiate CPR as necessary.
  • Accurately perform medical calculations, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications through appropriate routes.
  • Exhibit proficiency in phlebotomy and the placement of intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
  • Manage feeding tubes and central line catheters effectively.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and training fellow team members.
  • Approach client concerns with patience and empathy.
