Veterinary Emergency Care Technician

Position Overview:

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking skilled Veterinary Technicians to join our dynamic Emergency department. This role is ideal for those passionate about providing exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $ - $ / hour

Note: This pay range is a starting point and is influenced by experience and progression through our CareerTrax leveling system.

We also provide competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends, with differentials based on a minimum of 4 hours worked.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and monitor anesthesia, ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
  • Assess emergency cases upon arrival, including vital sign checks such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Conduct digital radiography with proper techniques and patient positioning.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of normal vital sign ranges and alert veterinarians to any changes.
  • Identify patients at risk for cardiac arrest and initiate CPR as necessary.
  • Accurately perform medical calculations and administer medications via appropriate routes.
  • Proficiently perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in various peripheral vessels.
  • Manage feeding tubes and central line catheters effectively.
  • Mentor and train fellow team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Exhibit patience and empathy when addressing client concerns.
