Job Opportunity: Head of Department for MFL

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Department to lead our Languages Department and drive the delivery of high-quality lessons and effective progression for pupils across the KS3/4 French and Spanish curriculum.

About the Role

As a key member of the Senior Team, you will be responsible for effective leadership and organisation of the Languages Department, working collaboratively with colleagues to establish a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Languages Department curriculum and assessment strategies
  • Manage and coordinate the work of the Languages Department team, including staff development and performance management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the Languages Department's reputation and opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Languages Department's teaching and learning, making recommendations for improvement
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialism in French/Spanish at KS3/4
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us
