About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our team at Arch Capital Group. As a key member of our Commercial Insurance team, you will play a critical role in achieving our business objectives and driving growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities while maintaining a strong risk selection and appetite.
- Adhere to our 4 Call Process to maximize opportunities and ensure efficient case underwriting.
- Achieve bottom-line, top-line, and expense targets by managing and operating to key performance indicators.
- Enhance Arch's standing and presence in the market by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key brokers.
- Display strong negotiation skills to convert and maintain relationships with key brokers.
- Maintain and enhance personal knowledge of relevant technical issues.
- Contribute to the technical knowledge of the company by feeding back technical and commercial market intelligence.
- Work collaboratively with other parts of the organization, especially the claims and survey teams.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven broker relationships and a track record of underwriting development.
- Ability to negotiate flexibly and effectively.
- Effective selling skills and a range of influencing and negotiation approaches.
- Risk perception and risk selection skills, with the ability to price risk accordingly.
- Experience working across functions and building strong relationships.
- Operational effectiveness and efficiency, with clear and effective communication.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum A-level standard preferred.
- Professional certification, such as ACII, preferred.
- Experience in the Commercial Insurance industry, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a structured, organized, and planned manner.
