Job Description

Automation Experts is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Technology department, you will play a leading role in the delivery of projects, ensuring all design requirements and procurement of materials are completed timely.

The Role:
  • Coordinate the efforts of other disciplines in delivering projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  • Manage and support LV Staff in the development of their skills and capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on projects both pre and post-sales, ensuring high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and plan projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget, utilizing your expertise in project management and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain electrical design drawings and calculations from client requirements, associated technical standards, and best engineering practice.
  • Conduct technical reviews of electrical design drawings and calculations within the LV Engineering department, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Manager to develop standards and tools that enhance productivity, improve quality, and comply with legislation and technological advancements.
  • Assist in the generation of estimates, proposals, and tenders as necessary, utilizing your expertise in business development and sales.
  • Conduct technical reviews of estimates, proposals, and tenders as necessary, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
The Person:
  • Hold a HNC/HND or BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Have hands-on experience of Power Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Be competent in technical knowledge of industrial control and automation systems.
  • Have knowledge of selectivity and coordination of protective devices and switching devices.
  • Have knowledge of electrical distribution theory, cable sizing, motor starting, and control techniques.
  • Have knowledge of programmable logic controller systems and associated hardware.
  • Have knowledge of industrial communication networks, protocols, and architecture.
  • Have knowledge of Product Conformity requirements (UKCA / CE Marking).
