Job Title: Sr IT Infrastructure Specialist

Daikin Applied is seeking a talented Sr IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and administering our SQL database environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement robust SQL server database architecture designs, incorporating best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
  • Maintain SQL database objects and perform database capacity planning, data modeling, data loads, troubleshooting, database backup and recovery, and support applications.
  • Develop and execute long-term SQL database strategy and roadmap, including technology refresh, cloud adoption, and move to PaaS solution.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance.
  • Drive automation initiatives using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
  • Manage database structures by monitoring and adjusting the internal structures as required.
  • Define, establish, and perform regular backups of databases.
  • Perform upgrades of the database and software to new release levels.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform Database Security implementation and documentation.
  • Create and maintain reports and forms.
  • Ensure databases are compliant with applicable STIGS.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working on SQL databases performing modeling and administration.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell.
  • Experience managing vulnerability remediation programs in a medium to large environment.
  • Experience designing and managing virtual infrastructure solutions in a medium to large environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience working on SQL databases performing modeling and administration.
  • DevOps and CI/CD, Site Reliability Engineering experience.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
