Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team, supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced bar feeding technology used in the turning industry. This is a key role that involves hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and customer interaction across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure bar feeders and associated machinery at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance from the start.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and maintain machinery efficiency.
  • Diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns, including replacing faulty components and adjusting systems to restore functionality.
  • Implement upgrades or retrofits to enhance existing equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections and use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Provide training to customers on operating and maintaining their equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of service visits in our CRM system, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, keeping them informed about service progress and addressing any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a field service role, preferably in the manufacturing or machinery sector.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), and a strong understanding of bar feeding technology and machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficiency in English (C1/C2 level). Italian is a plus.
  • Must reside within 30 km of Birmingham, UK.
