Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to join our team at Round Peg Solutions. As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for allocated programmes and commodities, ensuring requirements are met on time, and delivering a highly capable and cost-effective supply base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement process for allocated programmes and commodities, ensuring requirements are met on time.
  • Responsible for the creation, updating, and presentation of procurement slides and actions to the Procurement Manager and Programme/Project site reviews.
  • Responsible for Programme Supplier Sourcing in line with development Strategy.
  • Responsible for Supplier Selection RFQs.
  • Responsible for Programme Supplier Negotiation, including price, general terms, and conditions.
  • Support Programme Supplier Transfers.
  • Responsible for initiating, implementing, and negotiating parts onto supplier consignment/VMI.
  • Responsible for Programme Procurement Change Control, and where applicable, Export Control and ITAR.
  • Responsible for the delivery/maintenance/integrity of Programme BOM to Cost/Budget/while ensuring Item/Contract Item Data is updated and maintained.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a strategic/commodity buyer or equivalent.
  • Ability to demonstrate cost-saving initiatives.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement processes and strategies.
  • Proficient in contract management and supplier evaluation.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Dealing with ambiguity.
  • Proven experience of contractual and commercial negotiations.
