Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team at The Engineer. As a key member of our Electrical Commissioning team, you will be responsible for leading the commissioning of complex electrical systems on our ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they are safely and efficiently installed and tested
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced team members
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Represent the company on contractors' sea trials and other outworking requirements

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation systems, ideally including hydraulic, pressurized air, and gas systems
  • Experience in commissioning complex systems, power plants, motors, and high-voltage systems
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of instrumentation systems, including electrostatic discharge, low-voltage control, data communications, PLCs, and fibre optics
  • Knowledge of safety controls and procedures in a high-risk environment
  • Experience working with distribution systems, fire protection systems, and electrical testing

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Awareness of nuclear site/authorization conditions
  • Experience working with distribution systems, fire protection systems, and electrical testing
