About the Role

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Manager to work closely with our directors and senior management team to lead, oversee, and deliver a high-quality technical support service to customers, including specifiers, architects, designers, registered installers, and other external stakeholders. The role is based full-time at our head office and requires visits to site and other stakeholder offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and ensure an effective office-based technical service is available to support external and internal customers, with a distinct focus on risk management to meet both customer and business needs.
  • Manage the wider technical team to provide U-value and condensation risk assessments using proprietary software, including developing a good working knowledge of the software.
  • Manage the development, production, and issue of CAD drawings and Sketch-up details in conjunction with our CAD Technician.
  • Manage the wider team to provide written specifications for PermaRock Systems to meet individual project requirements.
  • Manage and deliver the provision of telephone, email, and video conferencing technical support service to customers.
  • Maintain and develop an effective CAD/BIM detail library and document control procedures.
  • Ensure that non-conformance and customer complaint procedures are followed and that operations are carried out in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ensure that all reporting is carried out timeously and in accordance with agreed procedures and content.
  • Attend site meetings and inspections, and keep accurate notes and reports of such meetings where necessary.
  • Attend or deliver technical training sessions to external and internal customers as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of new product developments and market trends, and ensure ongoing compliance with Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Facilitate and enable the development and improvement of our current and future product and system range.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken is done safely and in accordance with our Health and Safety policies and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with PAS 2030/2035, NIA, SWIGA, and NHBC requirements where required.
  • Manage internal and external sources of technical information, including our technical library and website.
  • Support marketing activities and website development, CPD material, and product literature.
  • Represent the business at trade bodies and industry technical committees as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of construction methods and practices, preferably including knowledge of new build and retrofit scenarios, and ideally some experience of the decarbonisation sector and external wall insulation theory and practice.

The successful post holder will also have or quickly attain a good understanding of the relevant parts of the UK Building Regulations, PAS 2030/2035 Requirements, NHBC Standards, and third-party Product Certification.
