We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Student Support and Engagement Team as an Academic Learning Support Assistant.

About the Role

This is a part-time hourly paid position that requires a proactive and high-quality learning support service for students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with curriculum teams to ensure that all learners receiving support have equal opportunities to progress and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical access, simple adaptations, and note-taking support to students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Keep accurate records and monitor individual support details and progress.
  • Attend to personal care needs, be involved in moving and handling, and administer medication after receiving appropriate training.
  • Work with curriculum teams to develop and implement strategies to support students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working in an education or care setting with young people with learning difficulties, disabilities, and complex and physical needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of barriers and issues faced by students with special educational needs and disabilities, together with strategies to overcome these.
