Role Overview
  • Formulate effective transport strategies and manage resources to fulfill customer and business needs.
  • Oversee Branch Sales Managers and set targets that align with corporate goals.
  • Guide team members to meet financial and operational objectives while ensuring adherence to company and transport regulations.
Responsibilities & Goals
  • Administer vehicle sourcing and bookings in accordance with company protocols.
  • Coordinate resources (vehicles, drivers) to guarantee compliance with legal standards.
  • Negotiate pricing with subcontracted drivers and develop a reference portfolio.
  • Create efficient transport strategies based on the operational model.
  • Maintain consistent communication with drivers and monitor progress using Navigator analysis.
  • Oversee the internal tracking system and ensure data accuracy.
  • Establish and meet targets related to margins, costs, and utilization.
  • Review customer allocations, optimize equipment usage, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Engage with customer service and drivers to uphold customer satisfaction.
  • Manage daily office operations effectively.
QualificationsCore Requirements
  • Valid Full Driving License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Desirable Skills
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in the UK transport industry and business development.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes, service delivery, and cost management.
  • Experience in team management, motivation, and goal setting.
  • Knowledge of the UK van market.
