Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Oncology Nurse Specialist to become a vital member of our skilled team within the Oncology department.

In this fulfilling position, you will be instrumental in providing outstanding care to patients receiving cancer treatments. Collaborating closely with the oncology team, you will conduct thorough patient evaluations, administer chemotherapy, and deliver continuous support throughout their treatment experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Registered Nurse with a Diploma or BSc in Nursing
  • Willingness to obtain or already possess a SACT passport and/or a SACT postgraduate qualification
  • Essential experience in Oncology/Hematology, including pre-chemotherapy evaluations, chemotherapy administration, and initial patient consultations
  • Postgraduate qualifications in breast care or hematology are advantageous
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational abilities
  • Patient-centered mindset with the capability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Exceptional documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Oncologists to streamline patient care
  • Perform comprehensive pre-chemotherapy evaluations
  • Administer chemotherapy safely and effectively
  • Provide ongoing education and support to patients throughout their treatment journey
  • Maintain precise and detailed patient records
  • Exhibit professionalism, adhering to the standards set by the NMC Codes of Professional Conduct and the HCPC.
