Accounts Payable Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance department at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable invoices.
Main Responsibilities- Invoice Processing: Ensure that invoice registration, matching, and payment are completed in a timely and accurate manner to enable the Trust to meet its legal obligations to its suppliers.
- Data Integrity: Maintain the integrity of data within the reference files of the Purchase Ledger systems.
- Payment Management: Ensure that payments are made within the suppliers' terms and that recoverable VAT is identified and coded for recovery.
- Reporting and Communication: Produce payments for all authorized invoices within Public Sector Payment Policy requirements and report internally and externally to meet customer and Trust requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Resolve issues related to orders and invoice queries, and demonstrate work activities to new or less experienced staff.
- Education/Qualifications: 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) or equivalent, including Maths and English, and NVQ level 4 or equivalent.
- Experience: Knowledge/experience of finance computer systems, including coding structures, VAT, and payment procedures.
- Professional Skills: Computer literacy, excellent keyboard skills, and proficiency in JAC software and Excel.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent personal organization skills.
