Houseperson Job Description

At HAP Alaska-Yukon, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our housekeeping team. As a Houseperson, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests have a clean and comfortable stay at our property.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare guest rooms for cleaning by room attendants, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Support safety standards and assist guests as needed.
  • Remove dirty linens and rubbish from guest rooms and transport to laundry or dumpsters.
  • Deliver amenities and linens to guest rooms or housekeeping closets.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members for service or technical updates, requests, or concerns.
  • Maintain organization for all housekeeping storage areas, ensuring they are clean and free from cross-contamination.
  • Complete regular projects and deep cleaning tasks.
  • Interact and communicate with guests, providing property-specific and local information, answering questions, and communicating concerns to supervisors.
  • Assist in other areas of housekeeping as needed, such as cleaning guest rooms or folding laundry.
Requirements:
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Participate in HAP's sustainability program and efforts to reduce waste and educate guests about our commitment to the environment.
  • Participate in HAP's safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.
  • Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize work and maintain attention to time constraints while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
