We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Lead Product Safety Engineer to play a pivotal role in establishing priority levels for various products and determining the necessary testing protocols. This position involves overseeing daily operations, setting priorities, and championing continuous improvement while conducting thorough documentation checks and evaluations across diverse product categories, providing structured insights to the Heads of Category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and continuously refining a structured evaluation framework for each product category and trust level, grounded in risk assessment and performance history.
  • Effectively managing the workload of the Branded Evaluation team to ensure timely product launches.
  • Creating and maintaining a risk assessment database to ascertain the risk levels associated with each product subcategory and supplier rating, thereby safeguarding the business and end-users.
  • Possessing a comprehensive understanding of safety regulations pertinent to each product category, swiftly researching requirements for new categories and integrating them into the evaluation process.
  • Providing accurate information based on expertise regarding product legal compliance and advising commercial teams on non-legal product performance matters.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in product development, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
  • A solid grasp of product safety standards and the technical acumen to support informed decision-making.
  • Strong familiarity with current and emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of product design methodologies, including life cycle modeling and cost management, is desirable.
