Job Title: Finance Officer

Anderson Knight is seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing agency disbursement accounts and payments, working closely with the Finance Team Leader and the Client Reporting Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of management accounts for external clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Budget variance analysis in collaboration with budget holders, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support the client team leader in delivering Client Reporting funding packs, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Completion of month-end balance sheet reconciliations within prescribed timelines, resolving any discrepancies with the AP function.
  • Creation and processing of bank payments and Bank Reconciliations, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Working closely with the operations department to deliver vessel commentary to clients, providing valuable insights.
  • Management of Cash Book and General Ledger, utilizing Agresso to ensure efficient financial management.
  • Maintenance of open purchase orders and adherence to AP internal processes, performing Commitment Key Checks to ensure compliance.
  • Processing General Ledger transactions, including accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Ad hoc duties for clients and management, demonstrating flexibility and a can-do approach.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified by experience in a relevant/similar role, with a strong understanding of financial principles.
  • Experience preparing accounts to trial balance, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines, with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative, with a flexible and committed approach.
  • Ability to develop internal relationships within the role, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
  • Willingness to adopt a can-do approach, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Competency with Excel and Word, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Part-qualified Accountant AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS or part-qualified experience, with a strong understanding of financial regulations.
  • Experience working within a Finance function, with a focus on financial management and reporting.
  • Previous working knowledge of using an ERP system, with the ability to adapt to new software and systems.
  • Desire to develop within the role and the team, with a focus on career progression and professional development.
