About the Role
The Herne Bay Ophthalmology Services is seeking a part-time Administrator to join their team. As an Ophthalmology Administrator, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administration duties to support the delivery of high-quality Ophthalmology services to patients.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitoring patient call and recall systems
- Booking appointments for all services
- Liaising with patients over the telephone and face-to-face
- Dealing with patient medical queries and signposting if necessary
- Assisting with maintaining stock levels
- Unpacking deliveries on a daily basis
- Extracting required data from correspondence and inputting into patient electronic healthcare records
- Liaising with hospitals, clinicians, and opticians
- Filing and scanning documents
About Us
The Herne Bay Ophthalmology Clinic is a joint venture owned and run by a partnership consisting of the GP Practices in Herne Bay and a group of local Ophthalmic Surgeons. All services are based at Beltinge and Reculver Surgery, a branch site of The Heron Medical Practice.

Qualifications
- GCSE Mathematics and English (C or above)
Experience
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong IT skills
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
- Effective time management (planning and organizing)
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Good interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
