We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Healthcare Pathway Coordinator to join our Clinical Haemoglobinopathy Service. This role is integral to supporting the transformation project for sickle cell disease across the region. The position is part of a project aimed at enhancing the comprehensive care pathway for individuals living with sickle cell disease, ensuring their needs are effectively addressed.

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the administrative processes related to patient pathways, guaranteeing a seamless and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment journey. Additionally, the coordinator will play a vital role in delivering an effective administrative service to the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Serving as a primary contact for patients, facilitating access to healthcare professionals, providing information on appointments, and addressing various inquiries.
  • Managing clinic profiles to optimize capacity utilization, including regular assessments of clinic usage and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Delivering a proficient secretarial and administrative service to a multidisciplinary team, which includes the implementation of digital dictation and voice recognition systems, along with ensuring the quality and distribution of documents.
  • Collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure prompt and efficient handling of all correspondence.
  • Undertaking the typing of letters that are not generated through voice recognition and contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
