Job Title: Senior Asset Performance Engineer

As a key member of the Institutional Core Services team at CMC Markets, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to design, build, and maintain mission-critical FIX APIs that provide connectivity to our global multi-asset trading platform.

Important Note: This role requires on-site work in our London office near Liverpool Street, with a 5-day workweek.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling the distribution of real-time market data to customers
  • Processing order instructions across various asset classes, including CFD, FX, cash equity, and advanced order strategies
  • Utilizing Java with specialized low-latency programming and optimization techniques
  • Providing on-call technical support outside UK office hours
Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of Java
  • Understanding of low-latency programming principles, including garbage reduction, lock-free algorithms, cache-friendly algorithms, non-blocking I/O, unshared state, processor affinity, and busy waiting
  • Proven track record of building robust mission-critical systems with high fault tolerance
  • Experience with automated unit and integration testing
  • Microservice design and implementation
  • Java and Linux performance testing and optimization
  • Exposure to electronic trading systems and trading workflows
