Role Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated Linux and OpenStack professional eager to embrace a new challenge. The selected candidate will join a prestigious multinational organization that is integral to the defence and security sectors. This role provides the chance to engage with cutting-edge technologies, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of software-defined data centers in a fast-paced environment.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing OpenStack environments, collaborating with a highly skilled engineering team, and fostering innovation within the organization. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the future of software-defined data centers and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain OpenStack environments, focusing on essential components such as Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, and Cinder.
  • Implement and configure OpenStack systems utilizing tools like Ansible and Terraform, ensuring environments are consistent, reliable, and secure.
  • Provide assistance for instance creation, end-user management, and rapid application development.
  • Monitor system performance, anticipate future capacity needs, and resolve any issues to ensure service continuity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to guarantee seamless operation of OpenStack platforms and address any technical challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of OpenStack services, particularly Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, and the Ceph storage platform.
  • Proficient in Linux OS, with strong skills in scripting (bash, python) and command-line tools, especially within RHEL environments.
  • Experience in deploying, configuring, and managing OpenStack environments using automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to maintain system health and performance.
  • A solid understanding of security best practices for managing OpenStack platforms.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Strong communication abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
