Job Description

Gerrell & Hard is seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to join our manufacturing department. As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for leading and delivering project plans for new proposals and existing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Define project scope and timeline, identifying key project deliverables and milestones, and maintaining relevant documentation and communication with stakeholders.
  • Resource Management: Manage manpower and facilities planning, ensuring resources are available to support project activities, and liaising with functional areas to ensure replacements are provided if necessary.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project, following escalation procedures when necessary.
  • Project Control: Manage project timing within the overall program plan, track progress and changes, and develop recovery plans when necessary.
  • Financial Management: Control project spend within allocated budget using forecasting tools.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure quality of deliverables from functional departments, manage achievement of project deliverables at program milestones, and facilitate customer sign-off at gateway stages.
  • Reporting: Collate and deliver monthly management status reports.
  • Customer Liaison: Provide external customer liaison and reporting for stand-alone projects.
  • Project Closure: Resolve any open issues upon project completion, and collate lessons learned into a database.
  • Documentation: Maintain project file directory database, and ensure configuration control for project documents and reports.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Minimum HNC/HND third-level qualifications, with a preference for candidates with a Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience working within automotive design and development programs.
  • Skills: Understanding of manufacturing processes, ability to understand engineering drawings, knowledge and experience of automotive product development processes, and good communication and professional presentation skills.
  • Leadership: Leadership, man management, and conflict resolution skills, capable of organizing and managing priorities, and utilizing problem-solving techniques.
  • Commercial Analysis: Commercial analysis and budgeting skills, experience of working to customer contract terms.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literate, with advanced MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills, and MS Project expertise preferred.
