Geospatial Engineer

Position Overview

Balfour Beatty is in search of a proficient and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to become a vital part of our Major Projects Team.

This role is integral to our ambitious projects, contributing to significant developments that are essential for the future of energy in the UK.

Our team will employ cutting-edge technology to facilitate extensive excavation efforts, involving the construction of numerous tunnels that will be meticulously lined with concrete segments. These tunnels will connect to the seabed through vertical shafts, ensuring efficient water flow management.

As a Land Surveyor, your responsibilities will encompass various facets of the surveying process, including engineering control, topographic surveys, and precise setting out tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve several critical tasks, including:

• Overseeing the training and development needs of survey team members.
• Assisting with Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
• Supporting Health & Safety and sustainability initiatives.
• Preparing and delivering site safety briefings to survey teams, including the creation of Work Package Plans, Risk Assessments, and Task Briefing Sheets.
• Collecting, processing, and disseminating survey field data to clients or stakeholders in the required formats.
• Supervising survey teams during various engineering survey activities.

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this position, you should ideally possess:

• A relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry-recognized qualification.
• Experience within the construction industry.
• An understanding of geodetic requirements pertinent to project specifications.
• Knowledge of settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies.
• Experience in establishing Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) networks.
• A valid CSCS certification.
• A full clean driving license.
