Bridgwater, Somerset, United Kingdom Balfour Beatty Full time

About the Position

Balfour Beatty is in search of a committed and proficient Land Surveyor to be part of our Major Projects Team.

This role is pivotal in the execution of Hinkley Point C, a significant nuclear power facility that is essential to the future of energy in the UK. This ambitious initiative is set to be a key contributor to fulfilling the energy demands of the UK while promoting sustainable development.

Our specialists will employ cutting-edge technology to excavate a total of nine kilometers of tunnel, which will be reinforced with 38,000 concrete segments forming 6000 lining rings. The tunnels will connect to the seabed through vertical shafts and will be capped with substantial intake and outfall heads, each weighing nearly 5000 tonnes, facilitating the flow of seawater into the tunnels. Both the concrete segments and the heads are manufactured to precise specifications at a state-of-the-art facility.

As a Land Surveyor, your responsibilities will encompass various facets of the surveying process, including engineering control, topographic surveys, engineering surveying, and setting out.

Be part of a transformative journey and influence the future of energy with us.

  • Overseeing the mentoring and training needs of survey team members
  • Assisting in Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes
  • Supporting Health & Safety and sustainability initiatives

  • Gathering survey field data, processing it, and delivering it to clients or stakeholders in the specified formats
  • Supervising survey teams in various engineering survey activities
