About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Lead to join our Social Security Programme Division as part of our Digital team. As a Product Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring successful product delivery in an Agile project management framework.

You will be responsible for managing day-to-day product planning and delivery on behalf of Senior Product Managers, across a range of social security welfare benefit projects or support services and platforms. You will support the development and delivery of functionality to meet the needs of users, managers, and stakeholders.

You will create effective, prioritized product descriptions and delivery plans to meet user needs in a cost-effective way. You will interpret user research to make the correct product decisions and use product management principles and approaches.

You will communicate credibly with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and support the management of an allocated budget.

About Us

The Social Security Programme Directorate has been created to design and implement devolved benefits for Scotland, enabling the delivery of 16.5 million payments per year, to an estimated two million people.

This vacancy sits within the Programme Management and Delivery Division and will support our various teams within the programme.

We aim to develop user-centered systems, services, and processes that build capability and enable the delivery of devolved benefits in Scotland.

Responsibilities

As a Product Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing day-to-day product planning and delivery on behalf of Senior Product Managers
  • Supporting the development and delivery of functionality to meet user needs
  • Creating effective, prioritized product descriptions and delivery plans
  • Interpreting user research to make the correct product decisions
  • Communicating credibly with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the management of an allocated budget
Essential Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) Knowledge

You will have a proven track record of working and delivering in a fast-paced environment, being able to understand and identify the appropriate solutions. You will have demonstrable experience of creating and maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders and working collaboratively with them to deliver successful outcomes.

You will be able to collate, organize, analyze, and use information to plan and deliver services, products, and technology improvements. You will have experience of working on complex projects with fixed and challenging delivery dates and an understanding of Agile methodology and how to apply it.
