Delivering Exceptional Resident Care

Athena Care Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with lead carers to deliver comprehensive care plans, ensuring residents receive the best possible support.
  • Assist with daily care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and medication management.
  • Engage residents in activities that promote mental and physical well-being, such as exercise, hobbies, and social events.
  • Monitor and report any changes in resident condition, ensuring timely interventions and support.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless care delivery, maintaining open communication and a positive team dynamic.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in care.

Health and Safety:

  • Attend mandatory training sessions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Report any incidents or near-misses, contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, ensuring the home remains a safe and healthy space for residents and staff.
  • Adhere to medication storage and handling procedures, maintaining the highest standards of care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in care or a related field, with a strong understanding of care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development, with a passion for delivering exceptional care.
