Pharmacy Specialist (Flexible Position)

One Healthcare Partners Limited is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Specialist to join our collaborative and supportive Pharmacy team on a flexible contract basis.

Please note: this is a flexible role requiring availability to assist during peak times and provide coverage for team members during their absence.

Qualifications for the Pharmacy Specialist include:


• A recognized degree in Pharmacy


• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (any existing or pending Fitness to Practice issues must be disclosed upon application)


• A Postgraduate Diploma relevant to hospital pharmacy practice is preferred but not mandatory


• A minimum of 1-2 years of post-registration experience


• Experience in clinical pharmacy within a secondary acute care environment, or demonstrated capability to apply clinical skills in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:


• Provide pharmaceutical expertise and contribute to patient care within our healthcare facility.


• Assist the pharmacy department in delivering an exceptional medication management service to all stakeholders.


• Participate in daily multidisciplinary ward rounds


• Oversee the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications.


• Influence prescribing practices and medication management within the organization.


• Ensure the smooth operation of the Pharmacy Department, providing a safe and effective medication management service to all patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.


• Perform financial tasks and procedures as necessary, including maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and managing invoices and charges.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, professional, and best practice standards.


• Support the Chief Pharmacist in implementing and monitoring national guidelines, such as NICE guidance.


• Engage in audit activities aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided by the department, including medication incident reporting.


• Supervise the Pharmacy Technician.
