Pharmacy Support Specialist (Flexible Contract)

One Healthcare Partners Limited is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Support Specialist to join our dedicated team on a flexible contract basis.

As a Pharmacy Support Specialist, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Possession of or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services
  • Experience in inventory management
  • Proficient in customer service interactions

Reporting to the Clinical Pharmacist, your role will involve supporting the efficient operation of the pharmacy services, which includes:

  • Maintaining established stock levels of pharmaceutical items across various departments.
  • Coordinating the ordering and receipt of medications from suppliers to ensure availability for patient care.
  • Assisting the Pharmacy Technician with the labeling and dispensing of medications as required.

You will collaborate closely with the Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician to provide exceptional clinical support to patients.

Pharmacy Support Specialist (Flexible Contract)

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Qualifications

  • General education qualifications including GCSE (A-C) in Maths, English & Science or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services

Experience

  • Background in inventory management
  • Experience in customer service roles

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the systematic and physical distribution of pharmaceutical products to all departments, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Providing a professional and courteous service to patients and staff in the dispensary.
  • Supporting the organization and filing of necessary documentation.
  • Assisting with the departmental replenishment system to ensure timely availability of pharmaceutical products for healthcare personnel.
  • Ensuring proper receipt, storage, and utilization of stock for replenishment.
  • Participating in stock rotation, inventory counts, and routine expiry date checks within the pharmacy and hospital departments.
  • Helping to manage the fluid store and maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Assisting in the disposal of medications according to hospital policy.
  • Supporting the Pharmacy Technician in preparing and maintaining emergency medical supplies.
  • Assisting with the labeling and dispensing of medications under the supervision of the Pharmacy Technician and Clinical Pharmacist.
