Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Portland, Dorset.

Job Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a pupil with significant needs in the EYFS class, providing individualized support and creating a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Work 1:1 with an EYFS pupil with significant needs, providing tailored support and adapting to their individual needs.
  • Assist with personal care, including changing the pupil, as required.
  • Collaborate with other 1:1 Teaching Assistants in the same year group to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Support the class teacher with additional duties and tasks as needed.
  • Implement supported learning through play and suggestive learning strategies.
Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (Teaching Personnel can assist with this process).
  • Strong experience working with SEN pupils in a Primary setting.
  • Safeguarding Level 2 certificate (Teaching Personnel offers free training).
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to making a positive impact on a pupil's education.
